Katie and Dean have the most bubbly personality and infectious laugh, it’s impossible not to feel good when you’re with these two. They flew over from Sydney in mid March to get married at Coneys Wine in Martinborough. Their wedding day was full of laughter and Kiwi/Aussie banter (Dean is Australian). The day went smoothly with only a small hiccup (they left Katie’s ring in back home in Sydney and only discovered it while they were getting ready!) but they didn’t let that spoil their day. The weather was perfect, the guests were so much fun and I swear there wasn’t a moment of the day these two didn’t have a smile on their faces.

Lisa + Paul

From the moment Lisa contacted me about her wedding at Wellington’s newest bar/fermentary; The Whistling Sisters, I knew it was a wedding I had to shoot. They described themselves as foodies who loved being in the city so they wanted a very urban, inner city shoot. I was beyond excited!

At our first meeting, they instantly made me feel at ease. We laughed through that hour and I left feeling like I had struck gold wth these two. Their wedding day sounded relaxed, surrounded by their family and four kids…and let’s not forget to mention the amazing vendors they had picked out. These guys had taste!

The day started out at Lisa’s family home. We were extremely lucky with the weather - a perfectly sunny Spring day. Paul welcomed guests as they arrived and I was in heaven documenting such a perfectly styled wedding venue. Once the beautiful ceremony was over, we headed out for some photos with just the two of them. I was excited and nervous as I had scouted a few spots religiously building up to the day. Would they like it? Would the light be just right? It was.

After the shoot we went back to the venue and they continued to mingle and celebrate with their friends and family before I stole them for another 10 mins as the sun was setting on the roof top. It was the perfect wedding to kick off my season and a wedding I would never forget.
